#5 Otero Too Much for LRSC

The Lake Region State College Royals basketball team traveled to Williston, ND to participate in the Williston State College Booster Club Classic this past Saturday.

The Royals jumped out to an early lead on the Rattlers. However, a 21-0 run by Otero was the Royals undoing. They trailed 40-29 going into the half. In the 2nd, LRSC would get it as close as 9 but every time Otero would answer a Royals run with one of their own. #5 Otero would defeat the Lake Region State 95-81.

After the game head coach Jared Marshall had this to say about his team, "I am proud of the way we played tonight for about half to three quarters of the game. We just need to eliminate those runs we give up that always prove to be our undoing. That's a talented team and we never quit despite a tough shooting night. We will learn from this and get better."

The Royals were paced by Dion Fords 23 points and 7 rebounds. Steven Rawhire had 19 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

LRSC is now 5-6 on the season, they will travel to Gillette, WY for a double header against Gillette CC & #19 Casper CC.
